Excavation Hazard
The excavation hazard is calculated on **minodes **that represent underground tunnels as a series of connected nodes.
- The connection between the grid hazard and minode hazard is defined by the Ground Motion Prediction Equation (GMPE).
- The hazard parameters can be plotted on minodes or painted onto mine surveys.
- There are a number of marker styles that describe the hazard on minodes.
- There is a summary in the footer of the 3D view indicating:
- The total mine-wide hazard that gives the annualised probability of a strong ground motion (of chosen PPV) at any excavation.
- You can also select a subset of minodes and calculate the probability of a strong ground motion within that zone.
- You can also use a magnitude and distance instead of a PPV to define excavation hazard.

The previous video showed the isosurface view that is independent of excavations. The excavation view shows the ground motion hazard on work areas.
